Mary Poletti, the creator of Stuff St. Louisans Like, is a freelance religion journalist in Columbia, Mo., and a graduate student in journalism at the University of Missouri. She grew up in Belleville, Ill., and went to Governor French Academy (which, with a K-12 student body of less than 200, is a guaranteed “Where’d you go to high school?” conversation killer). Between graduating from Westminster College and heading to Mizzou, she lived in Maplewood and the City’s North Hampton neighborhood, worked mostly at a Christian nonprofit in Overland, and played mostly in the Delmar Loop. She is a geek for social media, music, and photography. Read her other blog.
Trisha Peplinski Harvey is a special education resource teacher in Houston, Texas, and a graduate student in education at the University of Houston-Victoria. She was born in Chesterfield four years before it was incorporated and went to Parkway Central High School. After graduating from Westminster College (where she was Mary’s roommate for three years), she moved to Houston in 2006 to be with her college sweetheart and now-husband, although she visits St. Louis as frequently as she can. She is an avid runner and moviegoer, an animal lover, and a staunch Cardinals fan exiled in Astros country. Read her other blog.
Angela Poletti is an administrative assistant at the Riverfront Times who lives on the City side of Richmond Heights after recently breaking up with downtown Kirkwood. Like Mary, her older sister by less than a year, she grew up in Belleville, Ill., and went to Governor French Academy. She is a graduate of Fontbonne University and is preparing to begin accelerated studies for her Missouri teaching certificate from the American Board for Certification of Teaching Excellence. She enjoys every second of living in St. Louis and is a committed vegan and organic lifestyle advocate.
Kurt J. Pankau is a professional Java Programmer, semi-professional social networker, amateur songwriter (check out his band), occasional film buff, failed author, and unrepentant heathen living in Creve Coeur. Also, a graduate of Westminster College and a transplant from central Missouri by way of Texas with a stop in Los Angeles, which makes asking him where he went to high school pointless. Do not under any circumstances read his other blog, which updates weekdays at 8 a.m.
